It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!
Besides the fact the The TODAY Show was preempted this morning by KWG’s coverage of “The 2010 Snow Storm” AND that 103.3 is already playing Christmas music, we are definitely seeing signs of the Holidays everywhere we turn!
This morning marks the first day of our annual Holiday decorating bonanza and this year we began with The Nines Hotel. We were especially excited about this location because
1) it’s our first year to do the entire hotel and
2) we went with a modern, winter wonderland feel instead of the traditional evergreen and holly look.
To pull this one off, we first had to find a flocker (aka. something that blows sticky white stuff resembling snow). Kim remembered her families roots (Christmas tree farm in the 50′s and 60′s) and called Uncle Tim and he had it! Last time the Flock-O-Matic turned on was 1963 and it works great. Kim’s husband, ever amused by her wild ideas, agreed to cover their driveway in a circus tent (yes, it’s red and white striped) and let the flocking ensue! She has since become a Master Flocker.
Our crew of Christmas Elves arrived at 9am and we set off to spread our flocking magic at the hotel. And we’re not done yet… our GIANT silver wreaths are arriving this afternoon and we’ll go back once more to finish the look. Until then… watch out for black ice and enjoy this first week of Holiday festivities!
